There’s nothing like London in the summer. The people are friendlier, alfresco is the new aldesko and the free festivals are simply brilliant. But one thing always throws me into a bit of a panic – the lack of summer clothes I have.
When I open up my draw of summer clothes, half it goes straight to the charity shop leaving me with very little to work with. There’s only so much you can wear a pair of jeans with sandals and a linen top. So, off to the shops I go…
My weakness is a good bargain. It doesn’t matter if I love the item, as long as the price is within my budget then it automatically becomes more attractive. However, this summer I have tried to overcome my sale obsession and buy what I love and need.
Starting with the basic tees – Dorothy Perkins have a great 3 for £12 offer. The strappy tops are wide enough to cover bra straps and the quality is great. Plus, they have a wide selection on colours so no need to stick to black or white.
French Connection are usually out of my price range, but it’s defo worth a look at their online store. With 75% off and plenty of summer dresses, its best to buy now rather than later.
Sandals are a weakness of mine, but can be hard to find a pair that isn’t going to break easily. New Look have served me well so far. They are cheap, comfortable and make your feet look gorgeous!
No summer would be complete without a maxi dress. I’m yet to find one to suit my shape, but I’m told that Wallis have a flattering range that can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion.
Now all I need is a holiday to showcase my new clothes…Benidorm anyone?
