I come from a very competitive family. Most of my Saturday nights as a child were sat around the dinning room table arguing over Monopoly. If you had spent your pink $500 notes, you’d be met with a chorus of ‘Bankrupt, bankrupt, bankrupt’. Quite brutal for a 10 year old don’t you think?

These days I’m more of a fan of outdoor garden games. Swing ball, football, bat and ball, Scatch…so much more fun than sitting around a Monopoly board arguing over Park Lane’s rental fees.

I’m off to see The Kings of Leon again tomorrow in Hyde Park, and despite everyone and their granny jumping on the bandwagon (I’ve loved the Kings after hearing a demo from Youth and Young Manhood in 2003) – I’m determined to enjoy every second of it.

Trouble is, every time I try and conjur up an image of Caleb and the boys in my mind – my head is filled with the sounds of my tone deaf neighbours murdering their latest album in the Kings of Leon Karaoke Fest they hold every Sunday eve.

Not enough to put me off my beloved hairy foursome mind you, but painful on the ears none-the-less.
